About Jordan-Elizabeth

Jordan-Elizabeth Long was born in Blacksburg, Virginia, USA.

Ms. Long started ballet in a small local dance school at age seven. When she was eleven, she began attending Southwest Virginia Ballet, where she studied privately with Terri Post. A year later, Ms. Long was named an American Ballet Theatre National Training Scholar.
At the age of fourteen, Ms. Long was invited to spend the summer at Cedar Islands, New York, the home of Suzanne Farrell. She subsequently studied with Miss Farrell every summer throughout her high school years.
During her time at Southwest Virginia Ballet, Ms. Long was the recipient of many scholarships, including the Thelma A. Robinson National Ballet Award, as well as through Regional Dance America (SERBA). She danced many roles, including Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Swanilda in Coppelia, and the Glove Seller in Gaite Parisienne.

When she was sixteen, Ms. Long was invited to join The Suzanne Farrell Ballet on their first international tour to the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, where she had the opportunity to perform Balanchine's Don Quixote.

After returning home from Scotland, Ms. Long moved to south Florida, where she completed her ballet training with the well-known Cuban teacher, Magaly Suarez. At the age of seventeen, she made her first professional appearance in Miami as Myrtha in Giselle, produced by the Cuban Clasical Ballet of Miami, which at the time was under the direction of Ms. Suarez and Pedro Pablo Pena. In Miami, Ms. Long danced principal and soloist roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, Raymonda Divertissements, Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadere, Majisimo, and Dying Swan.

In 2007, Ms. Long was a finalist in the Shanghai International Ballet Competition in China. In 2009, at the World Ballet Competition in Orlando, Florida, Ms. Long was awarded the Gold Medal in the Women's Professional Category. She then appeared in the WBC's "Gala of the Stars," performing her variation from Satanella.

Ms. Long began her professional career as a coryphee with Het Nationale Ballet in Amsterdam. Currently, she is dancing with the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm.

Ms. Long continues to dance at international galas and festivals. She has danced in the International Ballet Festival of Miami twice, dancing Paquita pas de deux in 2007, and Diana and Acteon in 2008. She performed at the Gala de las Estrellas de la Danza Mundial in Dominican Republic twice, dancing Satanella pas de deux in 2008 and Coppelia pas de deux in 2009. In 2010, she was invited to dance Diana and Acteon at the Dance Open Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia.
